Piercing Procedure
Informed Consent Release Form
Nature of Treatment
Purpose: Body piercing is a cosmetic procedure that involves the insertion of jewelry through an opening in the skin or cartilage using a sterile needle.
Procedure: A sterile, single-use needle is used to create a precise perforation in the desired location. Jewelry made of safe, approved materials is inserted immediately following the piercing. The piercer will follow the specifications agreed upon during the consultation.
Expectations: Piercings are intended to be permanent, though they may close if jewelry is removed or healing is disrupted. Healing times vary depending on the location and individual aftercare.
Risks
Possible Side Effects: As with any procedure that involves puncturing the skin, there are inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Pain, swelling, redness, bleeding, and tenderness
Infection if aftercare instructions are not followed properly
Allergic reactions to jewelry metals or materials
Scarring, migration, or rejection of the piercing
Unintended changes in appearance due to healing complications or trauma
Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions or medications (such as blood thinners or immune disorders) may increase the risk of complications. It is important to disclose all relevant health history before the procedure.
Medical Management
Practitioner Qualifications: Piercings will be performed by a trained and licensed professional who adheres to hygiene and sterilization standards, in compliance with local health department regulations.
Consultation: Clients are encouraged to ask questions regarding jewelry, placement, healing, and risks before the procedure begins.
Medical Disclosure: Clients must inform their piercer of any medical conditions, allergies, or skin sensitivities prior to each session. Failure to do so may increase the risk of complications.
Records: The studio may maintain documentation of the procedure and any disclosures made by the client. These records will be stored confidentially in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Pregnancy and Health Conditions
Advisory: Piercing is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks. Clients must notify the piercer if they are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are nursing.
Medical Clearance: In some cases, clients may be asked to obtain medical clearance from a physician prior to the procedure.

Cleaning the piercing site with saline solution 2-3 times per day
